The Provençal motto of the town, attributed to Frédéric Mistral, is "Qu'a vist Paris, se noun a vist Cassis, pou dire: n'ai rèn vist," which means "Whoever has seen Paris, if he hasn't seen Cassis, can say: I haven't seen anything."
It was during the Covid epidemic that I rediscovered the Cassis peninsula and the coves accessible from there. We would meet up in these wonderful places to spend time with family. The only problem was that all the people of Marseille had the same reasoning as us, and we found ourselves in the crowd. My son, a nature enthusiast, went for a long swim in the Port Pin cove in February.
